Château de Plaisance - Anjou Blanc 2023
The Château de Plaisance is located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, in the heart of Anjou in the Loire Valley. The estate, run organically since 1995 and biodynamically since 2008, was taken over from the Rochais family by Vanessa Cherruau in 2019. This 32-year-old young woman from Anjou cultivates 25 hectares of vines on the Chaume, Quarts de Chaume and Savennières terroirs. The Château de Plaisance is globally committed to protecting the environment and biodiversity, towards the most neutral carbon footprint possible.
Anjou Blanc is made from Chenin Blanc grown on a 5-hectare plot of schist. The harvest is manual and the grapes are slowly cold pressed. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, a partial malolactic fermentation is carried out. The wine is aged for 9 months in stainless steel vats .
