Domaine Pierre Girardin - Meursault Les Narvaux 2019
Domaine Pierre Girardin is located in Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy . Although a new face in the region’s wine community himself, Girardin is the son of the highly respected winemaker Vincent Girardin, who sold his eponymous estate in 2012. Benefiting from his father’s extensive contacts in Burgundy, as well as a small collection of prime parcels in the region that were not included in the 2012 sale, Girardin fils has been able to build an already exceptional portfolio. The viticulture is conducted according to organic principles while the influence of new oak is less intrusive in the wines thanks to the use of specially commissioned larger 456-litre barrels.
Meursault Les Narvaux is made from Chardonnay grown on steep, stony white marl soil. The wine is aged for 12 months in 456-litre barrels , 40% of which are new, and 6 months in stainless steel vats .
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
