Domaine Paul Prieur - Spring Bottling - Sancerre Blanc 2023
Domaine Paul Prieur is located in Verdigny, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley. The family estate has been managed by Luc Prieur since 2012, representing the 11th generation. The 14.5-hectare Sauvignon Blanc vineyard is concentrated on the limestone terroirs of Verdigny and Chavignol (Caillottes and Terres Blanches), as well as on the Silex terroirs of the village of Thauvenay. The red wines come from the 5-hectare lieu-dit "Les Pichons", planted in mass selection in the 1950s. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2022 .
Sancerre Blanc is made from Sauvignon Blanc from three terroirs: Caillottes (40%), Silex (40%) and Terres Blanches (20%). Fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for 8 to 14 months in stainless steel vats with three bottlings per year : spring bottling, summer bottling and winter bottling.
Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
