Domaine Paul Kubler - Weingarten - Pinot Noir 2022
Domaine Paul Kubler is located in Soultzmatt in Alsace . The estate was created by Camille Kubler, and passed on to Paul in 1947 who contributed to the reputation of the estate and developed the vineyard to its current size of around ten hectares. hectares. Today, the estate is run by his son Philippe, with his experience in Burgundy, Bordeaux and New Zealand. The vineyard is over 30 years old on average, and each grape variety is planted according to of the geology of the soil in order to obtain the best expression of the grape. The vines are protected by herbal preparations and natural substances, the soils are plowed and nourished by composts, respecting nature and its rhythms. The estate produces three ranges of wines: fruit wines or the "Kubler signature" (blends from different vineyards), terroir wines (from the Crus Breitenberg, Weingarten and the Grand Cru Zinnkoepfle) and late harvest sweet wines and selection of noble grains.
Weingarten is made from Pinot Noir grown on the Cru Weingarten. The bunches are destemmed and then the grapes are macerated for 3 weeks. The aging lasts 10 to 11 months in French oak demi-muids , with approximately 20% of new wood . The wine is bottled without filtration.
