Psi - Dominio de Pingus 2022
Dominio de Pingus is a Spanish winery located in Quintanilla de Onésimo in the province of Valladolid, with vineyards in La Horra of the Ribera del Duero region. The winery's flagship wine, Pingus, is considered a "cult wine". Dominio de Pingus was founded in 1995 by Danish oenologist Peter Sisseck . Planted with very old Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) vines, the vineyard is 2.5 hectares in Barrosso with vines over 65 years old, and 1.5 hectares in San Cristobal with vines over 70 years old. Since 2000, the viticulture has been certified biodynamic .
Psi is a project based on grapes produced by local winegrowers from old Tempranillo vines. The aim is to help grape growers and save old vines. The project was founded in 2006, with the first vintage in 2007. Winegrowers are encouraged to use biodynamic or organic vineyard management practices. The wine is made by Peter Sisseck and Pablo Rubio and sold under the producer name Bodegas y Viñedos Alnardo. Vinification takes place in large concrete vats and aging is done in concrete and wooden vats, and in oak barrels.
