Clos du Jaugueyron - Haut Médoc 2020
Clos du Jaugueyron is located in the Médoc , in Bordeaux . At the age of 20, Michel Théron left the Minervois and his parents' vineyard and settled in the Médoc, where he met Stéphanie Destruhaut . Today, they bring together 16 plots in the Margaux and Haut-Médoc appellations. Organic and biodynamic farming have gradually become established on all the plots. The estate's vines are on two main terroirs: Sur Macau for the Haut-Médoc and Sur Arsac for the Margaux; diverse geological profiles and different climates.
The grapes are harvested manually, at good maturity with a low use of sulfur in the cellar. The vats of different capacities make it possible to isolate the plots and the grape varieties. The vinification is carried out in concrete vats and the wines are then aged in barrels for around 12 months then again in vats before bottling.
Clos du Jaugueyron Haut-Médoc is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (33%) and Petit Verdot (7%) with an average age of 19 years. The wine is aged on fine lees for 12 months , in one-wine and two-wine barrels.
Grape varieties: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot
