Domaine Claude Riffault - Les Boucauds - Sancerre Blanc 2023
Domaine Claude Riffault is located in Sury-en-Vaux, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley. The estate is managed by Stéphane Riffault , representing the 4th generation. He trained in Burgundy and at Château Angélus in Bordeaux. Upon taking over the estate, he began converting the vineyard to organic farming and began plot-by-plot work in the vineyard. Each plot has its own geographical and geological characteristics, and the grapes are vinified and aged separately.
Les Boucauds is made from Sauvignon Blanc grown on a Kimmeridgian marl-limestone terroir. The wine is aged for 12 months in 228 to 600 liter oak barrels .
