Domaine Génot-Boulanger - Puligny Montrachet Les Levrons 2022
Domaine Génot-Boulanger is located in the commune of Meursault, in Burgundy . The estate has 22 hectares of vines on the most beautiful wine-growing terroirs of Burgundy: Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault-Bouchères, Puligny-Folatières, Clos de Vougeot… The estate was created in 1974 by Charles-Henri Génot and his wife Marie, née Boulanger. The second generation, led by their daughter, expanded the vineyard in Côte de Nuits with new acquisitions in three Grands Crus. Since 2008, it has been run by Aude and Guillaume Lavollée . The couple focuses their qualitative approach on the work of the vines and more particularly on the life of the soil (organic amendments, plowing, etc.), followed by a new, less interventionist approach to winemaking. Aude and Guillaume Lavollée are constantly experimenting, closely studying the benefits of biodynamics , and, strong in their convictions, decided to commit the estate to viticulture that respects nature and the soil. Domaine Génot-Boulanger has been certified organic since 2018.
This Puligny-Montrachet is produced from the Les Levrons plot, with an area of 0.35 hectares, planted with Chardonnay in 1988 and facing southeast. After a manual harvest, the grapes are pressed in whole bunches . The musts are not sulphurized before fermentation. Following a light settling, they are transferred to oak barrels in which fermentation and aging take place. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 10 to 15% of which are new, followed by 6 months in stainless steel vats .
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
