Teyras de Grandval - Chinon Rouge 2023
Domaine Teyras de Grandval is located in Cravant-les-Côteaux, in the Chinon appellation in the Loire Valley. It was founded in 2023 after the acquisition of Domaine Jaulin Plaisantin by Anatole de La Brosse , the owner and operator of Domaine des Closiers. The vineyard covers 17 hectares; 16 hectares of Cabernet Franc and 1 hectare of Chenin. The vines are cultivated organically and everything is done to develop biodiversity, including the planting of hedges and fruit trees. The first production was released in 2025.
The estate cuvée is made from Cabernet Franc . The grapes are harvested manually and sorted 4 times before total destemming. The harvest is put into cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by a maceration of approximately 1 month. The wine is aged for 8 months in vats (75%) and barrels (25%) .
