Château GRAND-PUY DUCASSE 1994
Château Grand-Puy Ducasse is located in Pauillac , in the Bordeaux wine region. It was classified as a Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The Château Grand-Puy Ducasse vineyard covers approximately 40 hectares, divided into three large plots located on deep gravel soils, typical of the Pauillac appellation. In 2005, CA Grands Crus, a subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole group, became the owner of Château Grand-Puy Ducasse and embarked on an ambitious plan to restructure the vineyard.
Château Grand-Puy Ducasse is a blend dominated by Merlot , complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon . The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard and upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and aging lasts 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels , with a proportion of new wood.
