Pazo Barrantes - Gran Vino Albariño 2021
Pazo Barrantes is located in the Salnés Valley, in the heart of the Rias Baixas in Galicia, Spain . The 12-hectare estate, divided into eight plots, is planted with the local Albariño grape variety. The property is owned by the Cebrián-Sagarriga family , who also own the Marqués de Murrieta winery in La Rioja.
Gran Vino Pazo Barrantes is made from Albariño grapes grown on granite and sandy soils, with vines around forty years old. After manual harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and pressed directly. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats where the wine remains on its fine lees for two months . It is then aged for seven months in stainless steel vats (85%) and acacia barrels (15%) .
