Pleasure Castle - Savennières 2023
The Château de Plaisance is located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, in the heart of Anjou in the Loire Valley. The estate, run organically since 1995 and biodynamically since 2008, was taken over from the Rochais family by Vanessa Cherruau in 2019. This 32-year-old young woman from Anjou cultivates 25 hectares of vines on the Chaume, Quarts de Chaume and Savennières terroirs. The Château de Plaisance is globally committed to the protection of the environment and biodiversity, towards the most neutral carbon footprint possible.
The Savennières cuvée is made from Chenin Blanc , the vines of which are around 35 years old, and cultivated on 3 hectares. The grapes are pressed slowly and cold, and fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in barrels. Malolactic fermentation is partial and the wine is aged in barrels for 12 months .
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
