CHATEAU LA NEGLY - Le Clos des Truffiers 2013
Located on the heights of the town of Saint Pargoire in the Hérault, the plots of Syrah produce today one of the greatest wines of Languedoc. These Syrahs are part of the oldest vines in Languedoc, family heritage, the first bottle of Clos will be born in 1997.
This vintage steeped in history will propel the estate among the best wines in the world. The 3.5 ha which constitute the entire cuvée are harvested manually and repatriated by refrigerated truck to the Château de la Négly 50 kilometers away. Once received, the harvest, packaged in 7kg crates, will undergo a very selective sorting before being vatted in a conical new wood trunk for a vinification of approximately 45 days. 24-month aging is necessary for the proper maturation of such a nectar. The tasting provides very fine tannins the aromas of very ripe fruit also releases mineral notes with a high concentration of truffle and blond tobacco, with an extraordinary length in the mouth. This elixir is the ideal companion for a royal hare.
Intense ruby red color. The nose combines aromas of black raspberry, blackberry liqueur, minerals, violet and espresso coffee with bewitching woody notes. This velvety, enveloping and voluptuous wine spreads in the mouth and lines the most difficult to reach corners of the palate. Ideal companion for a woodcock with a string and its toast. It is advisable to decant it before serving. Drink it over the next 15 years
