KAVALAN - Single Malt Whiskey - Sherry Cask Of - 57.8%

A 6-year-old single malt that has the maturity of a Speyside of over 40 years, such is the pedigree of this single malt made in Taiwan. Aged in a sub-tropical climate that accelerates aging, the sherry cask version of Kavalan is darker than the oldest sherry cask single malts we have ever tasted in Scotland. With the possible exception of the mythical Black Bowmore 1964/1994 with which it shares resentful and fruity notes bordering on exoticism. La Maison du Whiskey imports and distributes this nectar from Asia exclusively on the French market and most European countries.

Produced from spring water from the Hsuehshan Mountains ("Snow Mountains"), Kavalan Sherry is a single malt from the Solist range, a collection of the distillery's finest cask crude bottlings. Aged in oloroso sherry casks, and bottled by hand, without reduction, addition of caramel or cold filtration, it is a rich, exotic and complex whiskey, already voted Best Rest of the World Single Malt at the World Whiskey Awards 2011
