The Fût de Chêne Multivintage cuvée signed Henri Giraud is the most complete and richest expression of the house's style.
Made from a marriage of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, it is a champagne that is aged in solera, thus marrying several vintages. The 2013 vintage is the majority in the blend of the Fût de Chêne MV 13 Henri Giraud cuvée. This champagne spends 12 months in small oak barrels from the Argonne forest, then 6 years on lees in bottles.
This cuvée is incredibly complex and incredibly rich, thanks to the Grand Cru d'Aÿ terroir, but also through the oaks of the Argonne forest which provides this characteristic velvety.
The Fût de Chêne Multivintage Henri Giraud cuvée has an intense and deep gold color. On the nose we discover a rich wine, with gourmet notes of pastry, ripe yellow fruits and spices (cinnamon).
The palate offers an elegant, round attack, then unfolds its silky touch, carried by a certain salinity and a hint of minerality. The finish asserts itself with a beautiful freshness, a slight minty presence.
A magnificent vintage for connoisseurs.
