Château Le Puy - Barthélemy 2016
The 2016 Puy "Barthélemy" comes from a plot called "Les Rocs", planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, all grown in a very reasoned way. This wine is aged, after often long vinification without any addition, in barrels tested for 24 months, by dynamization according to the phases of the moon, without adding sulfur dioxide or other. It is bottled without filtration. The vinification in the Amoreau family is special: the grapes are put whole in concrete vats, a few staves retain the cap and the fermentation juice overflows at the top onto a sort of concrete terrace on which it cools, then leaves naturally in the vat; all natural thermoregulation and oxygenation ...
Barthélemy 2016: deep purple color, with notes of ripe fruit. Beautiful complexity on the palate: a rich, structured, deep and silky juice. The aging on the Barthélemy cuvée is more thorough, it will be necessary to be more patient.
