Domaine MYRKO TEPUS - Le Lointain 2018
Domaine Myrko Tépus is located in Provence, in the Haut-Var in IGP Coteau du Verdon. The Domaine was created in 2017 by Myrko Tépus with the philosophy of working the soil before the plant. He currently rents a cellar in Esparron de Pallières and works 10 hectares of certified organic vines, located at an altitude of 460 meters. The grape varieties are mainly old vines of Grenache (planted in 1954) with Carignan (planted in 1962), 1 hectare of Cinsault, 1 hectare of Ugni Blanc, 20 ares of Chardonnay and 20 ares of Syrah. Myrko Tépus uses natural products that are close to biodynamics: thyme, rosemary and lavender hydrosols that reduce copper doses and fermentations occur with indigenous yeasts. Sheep from the neighboring farm come to graze and their manure is used to improve the vines.
Le Lointain Blanc is a blend of Ugni Blanc (90%) and Chardonnay (10%). The grapes are subjected to direct pressing in whole bunches. Vinification takes place in 350-litres barrels then aging on lees lasts 20 months.
Grape varieties: 90% Ugni Blanc, 10% Chardonnay
