Domaine Roc d'Anglade 2018
Roc d'Anglade is located in Langlade in the Guard. The village of Langlade has a Grand Cru wine tradition. In the 19th century, before the destruction of the vineyard by phylloxera, the village of 650 inhabitants counted 165 winegrowers and 625 hectares of vines. Roc d'Anglade was created in 1999 and became the third property of the modern Cru era. The vines, grown organically by Rémy and Martine Pedreno, spreads over 7.5 hectares. The terroir is made of clay-siliceous on limestone marls, facing due north.
The Roc d´Anglade rouge 2018 is a blend of Carignan (55%), Mourvèdre (25%) and 25% Grenache, Syrah and Cinsaultwith an average age of 25 to 30 years. The harvest is manual and fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts, in whole bunches for 80% of the harvest. Aging lasts 18 months on fine lees; 1/3 in demi-muids, 1/3 in muids and 1/3 in tuns. Light filtration on white stones before bottling.
