Domaine de La Réaltière - Cante Gau - Blanc 2018

The Domaine de la Réaltière is located in Rians in Provence, in the Coteaux d'Aix en Provence appellation. The estate was created by Jean-Louis Michelland in 1994, and has been managed by his son Pierre Michelland since 2001. The vineyard spreads over 12.5 hectares and is surrounded by an olive grove and a forest of holm oaks and pine trees. The vines have been cultivated organically since 1994 and certified biodynamic since 2011.

Cante Gau Blanc is a blend of Carignan Blanc (65%), Ugni Blanc (20%) and Sémillon (15%) grown at an altitude of 450 meters on clay-limestone soils. The vines of Carignan Blanc were discovered by Pierre Michelland in one of his Carignan Noir plots. The grapes are vinified in demi-muids, sandstone jar and terracotta egg. Aging lasts 8 to 9 months on fine lees.
