Domaine GUIBERTEAU - Brézé 2017
Domaine Guiberteau is located in the village of Saint-Just-sur-Dive, in the Val de Loire, near Saumur. The family estate has existed since 1934 and has been run by Romain Guiberteau since 1996. The vineyard covers 17 hectares, in the municipalities of Brézé, Bizay, Chacé, Montreuil Bellay and Saint-Just-sur-Dive where Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc are grown. Since 2003, the entire vineyard has been conducted in certified organic agriculture and the vinifications are carried out in the most natural way possible.
This cuvée is made from Chenin Blanc from grown on two small plots of mature vines planted in 1933 and 1952 in the Brézé single vineyard. The vineyards are at a higher elevation than most of the surrounding areas, and the vines sit on a hill of tuffeau, a porous and chalky limestone, mixed with clay and sand. The wine has been fermented and aged in oak barrels for 18 to 20 months.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
