Domaine Henri Boillot - Puligny-Montrachet - 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère 2019
Domaine Henri Boillot is located in Meursault, in Burgundy. The estate was named Domaine Jean Boillot until 2005, but was modified when Henri Boillot bought the vineyard shares from his brothers and sisters in order to distinguish it from the new Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot belonging to his brother. Since 2008, Henri Boillot has been accompanied by his son Guillaume, who is head of viticulture and winemaker of the estate's red wines. They limit as much as possible the interventions and all the entrants, a philosophy applied since the 1990s which made the domain a precursor in the management of sustainable viticulture. The specialty of Boillot father and son focuses on two appellations: Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay.
The Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère comes from the monopole of 4 hectares enclosed in the Premier Cru Les Perrières. The age of the Chardonnay vines is 81 years, cultivated on a clay-limestone soil. The wine is aged 70% in new 350-litres barrels, the rest in one-year-wine barrels.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
