Domaine Remi Jobard - Meursault 1er cru les Genevrieres 2019
The Domaine Rémi Jobard is located in Meursault, in Burgundy. The 8-hectare family estate has been managed by Rémi Jobard since 1991 and has been certified organic farming since 2011. He cultivates 7 hectares of white grape varieties (93% Chardonnay and 7% Aligoté) and 2 hectares of Pinot Noir. He produces several cuvées, notably in the Meursault appellation, the Meursault Premier Cru appellation as well as in the regional appellation. Beyond organic farming, Rémi Jobard practices as little intervention as possible during winemaking.
Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières comes from the Burgundian climate which takes its name from the juniper trees that were found on the heights of the Côte de Beaune: it is made up of stony soil with a small clay-limestone proportion. This Chardonnay is fermented in Stockinger demi-muids (Austrian cooperage) and the aging lasts 12 months in the same types of barrels, 25% of which is new.
