Champagne JACQUESSON - Dizy Terres Rouges 2013
The Champagne House Jacquesson is located in Dizy in the Marne Valley, in Champagne. Its history dates back to 1978, when the Chiquet family bought the brand and transferred it to their family estate. In 1988, Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet took over and since supervised a rapid rise in popularity when Jacquesson was ranked third best of all the Houses after Bollinger and Krug. The vineyard is located in two distinct regions: the Grand Cru of Aÿ and two Premiers Crus at Dizy and Hautvillers in the Marne Valley and two Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs at Avize and Oiry. 80% of Jacquesson's wines come from their vineyards.
The Dizy Terres Rouges is made from a Pinot Noir vine planted in 1993 on an east-facing slope, on a calcareous red-brown soil and deep on chalky loam. The wine comes from the 2013 harvest, vinified and aged on lees in oak casksbefore being disgorged in February 2021. It is dosed at 0.75 g/L.
