Domaine Chantal Lescure - Pommard - Les Vignots 2018
Domaine Chantal Lescure is located in the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges, in Burgundy. Founded in 1975 by Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont, the family estate now operates 19 hectares of vines, to the north on the slopes of Dijon and to the south as far as Meursault. Aymeric and Thibault Machard de Gramont, Chantal Lescure's two sons, took over the estate when their mother passed away in 1996. Each year, they produce 19 cuvées from 35 plots. The vineyard has been fully cultivated in certified organic farming since 2006.
Pommard Les Vignots comes from 35-year-old Pinot Noir vines, planted on an area of 1 hectare. After the manual harvest, the grapes are sorted, destemmed, and vatted by gravity. Fermentation is long and gentle, in stainless steel vats with moderate punching down and vatting of 18 to 25 days. The aging takes place in a cold cellar, on lees with 30% new barrels.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
