Château GUADET 2018
Château Guadet is located in Saint-Emilion, on the right bank of Bordeaux. In 1844, the Lignac family bought the Domaine Saint Julien, owned by the Guadet family. The family estate officially becomes Château Guadet under the influence of Guy-Petrus Lignac, who returns to the estate after two years at the Institute of Oenology and a career in the industry. He began by treating the vineyard according to the principles of organic farming in 2008 and obtained certification in 2013. His son, Vincent Lignac, joined him in 2009 after several years abroad: United States, Chile, Spain and Australia. He decides to turn to biodynamics, also certified since 2015.
This 2018 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé is a blend of Merlot (55%) and Cabernet Franc (45%). After the manual harvest and sorting of the grapes, the vinification is natural without any input. The extraction is carried out by pumping over in cement vats. Aging is carried out 50% in foudres and 50% in barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 of one wine, 1/3 of 2 wines).
Grape varieties: 55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc
