Château HAUT-BAILLY II 2019
Château Haut-Bailly is located in Pessac-Léognan, in Bordeaux. It was awarded Grand Cru Classé in the 1959 Graves Classification. The foundations of the modern vineyards date back to the mid-1530s, under the proprietorship of the Goyaneche and Daitze families. The estate was sold to the Bailly and Lauvarde families in 1630, who invested in the building of a manor house as well as the cultivation of the land surrounding the estate. Before his death in 1655, Bailly gave his name to the wines that were produced. The Château and the 30 hectares of vineyards are now owned by American banker Robert Wilmers.
The second wine, La Parde Haut-Bailly, has been renamed Haut-Bailly II since the 2018 vintage. It has been produced since 1967 from the same plots of vines as the great wine. The 2019 vintage is a blend of Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (40%).
Grape varieties: 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon
