JC's Own - Rock It 2020
JC’s Own is located in the Barossa Valley in South-Australia. It was established in 2015 by Jaysen Collins from Massena Vineyards with the will to produce “project wines”; different wines in style and packaging, and limited releases that pay respect to distinguished single sites around the world. He sources grapes from sustainable vineyards and his winemaking is minimalistic; using natural yeasts, low sulphurs, no fining and filtration also sit well within this philosophy.
Rock:it is a blend of Grenache from Angaston, Mataro from Moppa and Shiraz from Greenock. The grapes were hand-harvested within 3 days of each other, then foot-treaded and co-fermented in cement tanks. The grapes were pressed in a vertical press for a gentle extraction, and transferred to large oak for 19 months. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Grape varieties: Grenache, Mataro, Shiraz
