Domaine Peyre Rose - Marlène Soria - Oro blanc 2007
Domaine Peyre Rose is located in Saint-Pargoire, between Béziers and Montpellier in the Languedoc region. It belongs to the well-known winemaker Marlène Soria . Although she comes from a family of winegrowers in the region, she began her career in real estate before going into wine. In 1973, she bought the Peyre Rose estate as a second home with her husband, but following the real estate crisis, she decided to stay there full time and spent three years clearing the land before planting her first vines in 1982. difficulties, Marlène Soria vinifies for the first time in 1988. Success is there but she encounters some problems, in particular the pollution of her vat room in which she had invested a lot. Anxious to market wines of irreproachable quality, it gives up three vintages. Passionate about nature and turned towards ecology, Marlène Soria cultivates her 25 hectares of vines and produces wines in organic culture .
Oro is Marlène Soria's golden wine, named after a Polynesian god in homage to her son whom she adopted in Tahiti. It is a blend of Rolle (70%), Roussanne (25%) and Viognier (5%). This dry white is aged for more than 10 years, in vats and in tuns with refining in the bottle. The 2007 vintage in Languedoc is considered excellent despite the drought. The vine adapted to the climate and was able to produce grapes in excellent sanitary condition, with a high concentration.
