Villa Terlina - Gradale - Barbera d'Asti 2017
Villa Terlina is located in Agliano, in Piedmont , Italy . The estate is owned by Paolo Alliata , who worked in Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux region for 10 years and only works with Bordeaux coopers. The territory of Aglia, in addition to being characterized by a magnificent setting of picturesque hills, presents a great geo-pedological variability. The marl-limestone soils alternate with other purely loamy, clayey or limestone soils, thus creating a mosaic of vineyards where generations of winegrowers have been able to sublimate the alliance of the vine and the environment. The Villa Terlina vineyard is conducted in biodynamic agriculture .
Gradale is made from Barbera of massal and clonal selection, planted between 1955 and 1978. The grapes are vinified in concrete vats and the fermentation is spontaneous, the pellicular maceration lasts about 3 weeks. The aging is done in barrels of 3 wines. As required by the specifications of Renaissance des Appellations, the wines do not undergo any treatment or clarification. The only authorized oenological adjuvant is sulfur present at doses below 70 mg/L.
Grape variety: 100% Barbera
