De Martino - Legado Carmenere 2020
De Martino is located in the Maipo Valley , Chile. Pietro De Martino , of Italian origin, arrived in Chile in 1934 and decided to look for a place as unique as the wine he dreamed of making. Isla de Maipo, with its alluvial soils and Mediterranean climate, offered the ideal conditions for growing vines and making wine. Since 1934, four generations of the De Martino family have followed one another and operate the estate in sustainable agriculture . They produce several ranges of wines: De Martino Series, Single Vineyard, Itata Series, Old Vines, Cellar Collection and D'Oro.
The Legado Reserva comes from a vineyard planted in Carmenere between 1992 and 1998. The grapes were harvested manually and after selection and destemming, they were transferred to vats where they underwent cold maceration before fermentation with their native yeasts. The wine spent a total of 30 days in contact with the skins and was aged for 15 months in French oak barrels of several uses .
Grape variety: 100% Carmenere
