Weinbau Uwe Schiefer is located in Welgersdord, in the Eisenberg wine region of Austria . The estate was founded in 1990 by Uwe Schiefer , a former sommelier who worked in highly regarded Viennese restaurants. Its vineyard extends over 22 hectares, spread over several municipalities in order to have varied soils and microclimates. Uwe Schiefer uses the philosophy of minimal intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar; no oenological inputs, no filtration or fining, spontaneous fermentations...

This wine is made from the local Blaufränkisch grape, grown in the Burgenland region. It is aged for 18 months in large oak barrels .
