Domaine Trapet - Chapel Chambertin 2020
Domaine Trapet Père et Fils is made up of two estates: one in Burgundy , in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin and one in Alsace . The company in its current bi-regional configuration was formed when Andrée Trapet inherited her parents' vineyards in Alsace in 2002. Her husband Jean-Louis Trapet has been running Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, when which he succeeded his father Jean. This last property is one of the great historic estates of the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard covers 16 hectares, dominated by plots in Chambertin (1.9 hectares), Latricières-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. Both estates are operated in biodynamic viticulture .
Chapelle-Chambertin comes from a plot of 60 ares, the oldest vine was planted in 1945. This terroir is warm, shallow and well drained, composed of fine clays and blocks of limestone at ground level which which produces fine, rich and expressive wines.
