Château Lafitte - Sweet 2016
Château Lafitte is a former stately home from the 14th century, located in Monein, between Pau and Oloron Sainte-Marie, in the Pyrénées Atlantiques . The current owners of Château Lafitte, Philippe and Brigitte Arraou , have been undertaking a project for some thirty years that has always been a dream for them: to relaunch wine production. Since 2012, it is their son Antoine , passionate winegrower, committed to the preservation of the environment who manages the estate. He made it evolve from organic farming to biodynamics, and paved the way for natural wines . It produces high quality wines respecting the balance of the land and the vine. The 5-hectare vineyard is made up of equal parts of Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng.
Jurançon Doux is a blend of Gros Manseng (50%) and Petit Manseng (50%) . The grapes are harvested the second half of October. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged on fine lees for 15 months , in stainless steel vats. It contains 40 g/L of residual sugar.
