Château LANGOA BARTON 1995
Château Langoa Barton is located in the Saint-Julien appellation, in the Bordeaux wine region. It was classified Third Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The Langoa property was sold to Hugh Barton, Irish merchant, in 1821. Today, the Langoa Barton vineyard covers 20 hectares on a gravelly and clay subsoil.
Château Langoa Barton 1995 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (10%) . After the manual harvest, the harvest is de-stemmed and then sorted. The alcoholic fermentation lasts 7 to 10 days with some pumping over. The maceration lasts 3 weeks in barrels. The wine is aged between 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels , 60% of which are new. For Bordeaux, the 1995 vintage is widely recognized as an excellent year . Winter and spring were mild, although the rain in the spring was crucial in rebalancing the water table, and flowering was uninterrupted. The summer was so hot and dry that it broke records. The harvest, which took place in dry and sunny conditions, was abundant and healthy.
