Chateau Doisy-Daene 1996
Château Doisy-Daëne is located in Barsac , in the Bordeaux wine region. It was classified Second Grand Cru Classé in the Sauternes and Barsac classification of 1855. Château Doisy-Daëne has belonged to the Dubourdieu family since 1924. The vineyard covers 18 hectares, cultivated with respect for the environment.
Doisy-Daëne is made from botrytised grapes, predominantly Sémillon. The 1996 vintage in Sauternes was excellent . The climatic conditions were ideal with August rains conducive to the installation of the sought-after botrytis. By October, botrytis had taken hold and the resulting wines were rich, sweet and concentrated.
