Les Alexandrins House - Red Hermitage 2020
"Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins" was born from the association of three figures from the North of the Rhône Valley: Nicolas Jaboulet , 6th generation of a family of winegrowers settled in Tain l'Hermitage since 1834, Guillaume Sorrel , son of Marc Sorrel from Domaine Sorrel en Hermitage, and Alexandre Caso , the specialist in the terroirs of the Northern Rhône Valley. In 2014, Alexandre and Guillaume's desire to promote the wines of Domaine Les Alexandrins and Nicolas' desire to anchor Maison Nicolas Perrin in the heart of the Northern Rhône Valley led the 3 men to collaborate more and more closely. .
Maison Les Alexandrins wines are more modern in their approach and more contemporary in their style. The northern crus are available, based on exceptional terroirs unearthed by Alexandre Caso, specialist in the terroirs of the North of the Rhône Valley.
The Hermitage Rouge is made from Syrah from a complex and varied terroir, composed in places of granite, rolled pebbles and limestone. The harvest is put into cold pre-fermentation maceration. During fermentation, pumping over and punching down are carried out. The vatting lasts 28 days. The wine is aged for 15 months in one-year-old barrels (70%) and in new barrels (30%).
