Mas Mellet - Le Chemin des Salines - Red 2022
The Mas Mellet is located in Gallician , in Costières-de-Nîmes in the Gard . The estate was taken over in 2002 by Emilie and Brice Bolognini , when they were in their twenties. They work the 27 hectares of vines that were abandoned in organic farming , certified since 2007.
Le Chemin des Salines is a cuvée produced in collaboration with Eric Pfifferling , from the Domaine de l'Anglore located in the Rhône Valley, in Tavel . It is a blend of Cinsault (45%), Grenache (45%) and Syrah (10%) . After the manual harvest, sorting is done on the plot and then in the cellar. The grapes are put in the refrigerator overnight and then placed in vats by gravity. It macerates for 6 to 7 days then is devatted, by gravity. The pressing and the flow of the juices is done in concrete vats. The wine is aged in concrete vats.
