Domaine Genot-Boulanger - Corton Grand Cru - Les Combes 2017
Domaine Génot-Boulanger is located in the town of Meursault, in Burgundy . The estate has 22 hectares of vines on the most beautiful viticultural terroirs of Burgundy: Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault-Bouchères, Puligny-Folatières, Clos de Vougeot... The estate was created in 1974 by Charles-Henri Génot and his wife Marie, née Boulanger. The second generation carried by their daughter, extends the vineyard in Côte de Nuits with new acquisitions in three Grands Crus. Since 2008, it has been operated by Aude and Guillaume Lavollée . The couple focuses their qualitative approach on the work of the vines and more particularly on the life of the soil (organic amendments, ploughing, etc.), followed by a new, less interventionist approach to winemaking. Aude and Guillaume Lavollée are constantly experimenting, closely studying the benefits of biodynamics and, on the strength of their convictions, decide to engage the Estate in viticulture that respects nature and the soil. The Domaine Génot-Boulanger has been certified in organic farming since 2018.
The Grand Cru Les Combes climate is a very narrow plot of 0.47 hectares planted in 1983. The Pinot Noir grapes are harvested manually, and when the vintage allows it, 25 to 30% of the harvest is kept in whole bunches. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and is carried out in wooden vats . The extractions are gentle with some punching down and pumping over. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new , then in vats for 6 months before bottling.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
