Bodega Atamisque - Serbal - Malbec 2022
Bodega Atamisque is located in Tupungato, in the Uco Valley of the province of Mendoza in Argentina . The owners, John and Chantal Du Monceau , are originally from France and released the first vintage of Atamisque in 2007. Chantal Du Monceau's grandfather was a winemaker in the Beaujolais region. The vineyard is located on a slope just below the Andes, at 1,300 meters above sea level. The wines are produced from their own 125-hectare vineyards, as well as from small winegrowers from whom the couple buys their harvest from 90-year-old vineyards.
Serbal Malbec is made from grapes from the Atamisque vineyard. After manual harvesting, the grapes are put into cold pre-fermentation maceration for 6 days. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats for 25 days, maceration with the skins lasts 4 days. The wine is aged in stainless steel vats .
