Domaine BELLUARD - Monsieur Gringet 2020
Domaine Belluard is located in the town of Ayse , in Savoie . The farm was established in 1947 and was once covered with fruit trees. The 10-hectare estate, mainly planted with the endemic Savoie grape variety called “Gringet”, was managed by Dominique Belluard from 1988 until his death in June 2021. It is today owned by Vincent Ruiz . The vineyard has been conducted in biodynamic agriculture since 2001, without official certification . The observation and permanent analysis of the vineyard lead to a conduct of protection and care of the plants by integrating all the surrounding natural elements, always in search of the balance between the plant, animal and mineral world to the detriment of pesticides of chemistry.
Monsieur Gringet is made from the estate's hillside vines, combining marl, limestone scree and red clay, including the legendary Le Feu plot. This tribute vintage was vinified by Dominique Belluard, and due to his premature death, his friend Jean-François Ganevat completed the aging of the different plots of Gringet from the 2020 vintage. The wine is aged for 18 months in ovoid vats . The label was created by illustrator Michel Tomer.
Grape variety: 100% Gringet
