Château Quinault L’Enclos 2007
Château Quinault l'Enclos is located in the town of Libourne , on the right bank of Bordeaux. The property was purchased in 2008 by Baron Albert Frère and Bernard Arnauld and today belongs to the LVMH group. Pierre Lurton, of Château Cheval Blanc, heads the viticulture. Its city terroir is made up of sand and pebbles with a little clay. The vineyard covers 20 hectares and has been certified in organic farming since 2012.
Quinault L'Enclos 2007 is a blend of Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (20%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) and Malbec (5%) . It is aged in new barrels . The 2007 vintage had an exceptionally warm and mild April, followed by a May which brought more cold and humidity. In summer, lack of sunlight has forced some growers to trim canopies to allow grapes most likely to be fully exposed to the available heat. While this undoubtedly helped, ripening was still uneven, until early September finally delivered hot, dry heat that saved the vintage.
Grape varieties: 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec
