Château Faugères 2019
Château Faugères is located in Saint-Émilion , on the right bank of the Bordeaux wine region. The property belongs to Vignobles Silvio Denz , which also owns Château Cap de Faugères, Château Péby Faugères, Château Rocheyron and the famous Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey. Silvio Denz, originally from Switzerland, began his career in the high-end perfume and cosmetics sector. In 2000, he founded the Lalique group , a company specializing in the production and marketing of branded perfumes. At the same time, this architecture and art enthusiast diversified his activities and participated in the creation of a wine trading house. In 2005, he invested in the Bordeaux vineyards and a few years later in Tuscany. All Silvio Denz Vineyards share natural viticulture, respecting the environment. They are HVE 3 ( High Environmental Value ) certified.
Château Faugères became a Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion in 2012. It covers 42 hectares and the vines are located on the limestone plateau and the clay-limestone hillsides of Saint-Émilion, in a natural amphitheater. The wine is a blend of Merlot (85%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) . It is aged for 14 months in new French oak barrels (50%) and single-use French oak barrels (50%).
