Domaine Henri Boillot - Puligny-Montrachet - 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère 2022
Domaine Henri Boillot is located in Meursault, in Burgundy . The estate was named Domaine Jean Boillot until 2005, but was changed when Henri Boillot bought the shares of the vineyard from his siblings in order to distinguish it from the new Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot owned by his brother. Since 2008, Henri Boillot has been accompanied by his son Guillaume , who is head of viticulture and winemaker of the estate's red wines. They limit interventions and all entrants as much as possible, a philosophy applied since the 1990s which makes the estate a precursor in ultra-reasoned vineyard management . The Boillot father and son specialty focuses on two appellations: Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay.
The Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère comes from the 4-hectare monopoly enclosed in the Premier Cru Les Perrières. The age of the Chardonnay vines is 83 years, grown on clay-limestone terroir. 25% of the wine is aged in new 350 liter barrels , the rest in single wine barrels.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
