Château La Negly - C des Truffiers 2021
Château la Négly is located in Occitanie , facing the Mediterranean, in the La Clape massif. In the 18th century, the Château was named Ancely. It was in 1781 that the property took the name Nerly and was finally called La Négly in 1807 and later obtained the name Château. Several families have succeeded one another at the head of the estate. The Paux-Rosset family will definitively direct the vineyard towards qualitative production. The cultivation method is modified and the vines are completely re-planted. The neighboring Boède estate is leased. With the help of consulting oenologist Mr. Claude Gros, winemaking will be completely redesigned. Together, they bought the Boède estate in 2006 with a third partner, Alain Wittner. Today, Bastien Paux-Rosset, responsible for cultivation, operates these re-planted vineyards which extend over 75 hectares (the vineyard extends over 50 hectares and that of Boède over 25 hectares). Ideally exposed, the terroirs of Négly and Boède are distinguished by the diversity of their soils. In order to better promote these, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre have replaced Aramon, Terret and white Carignan. The vineyard is managed using sustainable agriculture .
C des Truffiers is a blend predominantly of Syrah , supplemented with old Grenache vines. Le Clos des Truffiers is located on the stony terraces of the village of Saint-Pargoire in Hérault. The plot is harvested manually when ripe, then sorted twice. The grapes macerate for 45 days in a 50-hectoliter truncated conical vat made of new wood from the Troncey forest . The wine is then transferred to new 225 liter French oak barrels for aging on lees for 2 years.
