Beaumont Family Wines - Chenin Blanc 2023
Beaumont Family Wines is located in the heart of the town of Bot River in the Overberg region of South Africa 's Cape South Coast. The farm was founded in the 1700s by the Dutch East India Company producing fruit, vegetables, dairy products, wine and flour. Jayne and Raoul Beaumont bought the farm in 1974 and began replanting the vines. Since 2015, Sebastian Beaumont (the eldest son) and his wife Nici have taken over the management of the property. Their approach to winemaking is instinctive, the old and low yielding vines of Chenin Blanc and Pinotage are honoured in the process, allowing the wines to be a true reflection of the land and vineyards.
Chenin Blanc comes from vines aged 3 to 49 years. It is vinified in concrete and stainless steel vats with a combination of natural and cultivated yeasts. The wine is aged for 4 months on lees .
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
