Chateau Pradeaux - Bandol Red 2020
Château Pradeaux is located in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, in the Bandol appellation area in Provence . The estate has belonged to the Portalis family since 1752 but was destroyed during the occupation of World War II. It was rehabilitated by Arlette Portalis and has been managed by Cyrille Portalis since 1985. He was joined by his sons Etienne and Edouard in 2010. The Château Pradeaux vineyard covers an area of 22 hectares, planted only with red grape varieties: Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, Counoise and Barbaroux. The average age of the vines is 40 years.
Bandol Rouge is the estate's flagship cuvée. It is a blend of Mourvèdre (90 to 95%) supplemented by old Grenache vines. The selected grapes come from vines at least 30 years old. The vinification is carried out in whole bunches , in concrete vats . The wine is aged for 48 months in old oak tuns .
