Chateau Sarpe Grand Jacques - Saint-Emilion 2022
Les Vignobles Chatenet-Goujon is a family farm located in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, in the Bordeaux wine region. In 1984, Anne-Lise and Pierre Chatenet took over part of the family land located at the foot of the Saint-Emilion slopes, which they named Moulin de Lagnet . Olivier, the eldest son, joined Anne-Lise and Pierre in 2007. In 2017, Jean, Pierre's uncle, entrusted his vines on the heights of Saint-Emilion. Château Sarpe Grand Jacques was taken over by Olivier Chatenet and Audrey Carraretto , partners in life and the vineyard for the occasion. The vineyard is certified organic .
Saint-Émilion is made from Merlot , the vine of which is approximately 38 years old, and grown on a clay-limestone plateau. The harvest is manual and the bunches are sorted. The berries are destemmed and crushed, then macerated with indigenous yeasts. Maceration is carried out in concrete vats with gentle extractions by pumping over. Vatting lasts 4 weeks and is followed by a final hot maceration. The wine is aged for a minimum of 12 months in concrete vats (98%) and in French oak barrels (2%).
Grape variety: 100% Merlot
