Domaine Bellegarde - Unique 2024
Domaine Bellegarde is located in Monein, in the Jurançon appellation in the southwest of France. The estate was founded in 1920 by Gratien Labasse and then passed down from generation to generation. Since 1985, his grandson Pascal Labasse has managed the 12-hectare estate , which is converting to organic farming . In the vineyard, the southern heat and the south wind allow the grapes to be raisined, an over-ripening technique for making sweet wines. The estate produces eight vintages, half dry and half sweet.
Unique dry wine is made from the old, almost forgotten grape variety, Camarelet . The grapes are harvested manually at full maturity in mid-September. After cold stabulation (a step which consists of leaving the juice after pressing on the fine lees) in order to release the aromas of the grape variety, fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts.
Grape variety: 100% Camaralet
