Ron Coloma is produced at Hacienda Coloma, a coffee estate located at an altitude of 1,700 meters in the heart of Colombia . Don Alberto Constain Medina dreamed of creating a rum with great Colombian character. It was only in 2005, after several attempts at illegal distillation, that the Colombian government relaxed its monopoly on spirits production. Don Alberto has since passed away, but his son has taken on his father's dream. Today, in addition to coffee liqueur, he produces a rum with the help of two of Colombia's best master rum makers, Sandra Restegui and Judith Ramirez .
To create this premium liqueur, the finest 3-year-old molasses rum was added to a natural infusion of hand-selected, slow-roasted coffee beans . The resulting liqueur rested for 8 to 10 weeks in single-use American oak barrels .
