In the far east of Languedoc, stands a small mountain 700 meters above sea level. Visible for several tens of kilometers around, the Pic Saint Loup is like Everest in the surrounding panoramic flatness.
It is in this sector that Christophe Peyrus settled in 1995, to create the Clos Marie vineyard. On the strength of his notoriety, Christophe Peyrus launched a new challenge, by creating an area of 6.5 hectares cultivated organically, on a limestone soil, cradled by a gentle southern heat and purified by the Tramontana.
The wines of Domaine Christophe Peyrus are dense, deep black in color due to the Syrah which represents 80% of the blend, the rest being Grenache Noir.
This 2014 presents a particularly elegant tannin with remarkable substance. Finishing with incredible finesse, dry herbs, garrigue, prunes, iodine which oscillates between marked acidity and delicate bitterness.
